PROHIBITION

I, Myrtle Wilson, am in favor of prohibition because it makes my husband very aggressive and abusive. I am strongly behind the temperance movement because alcohol has been tearing apart families and marriages for years. Men spend all of their earned money on alcohol and don’t have enough money to buy food to feed our children or pay for bills. I am strongly in favor with what the Anti-Saloon League is doing in trying to pass a national ban on alcoholic beverages. Another reason that I am in favor of Prohibition is because alcohol damages a person’s health, causes poverty, and causes men to commit crimes. Prohibition is a dangerous thing. My husband works in a factory and if he has been drinking and then goes to operate the machinery, he could get injured or even killed. In my own personal experience, when men go to parties, they tend to drink and some ends up with a broken nose.

WHY WOMEN SHOULD BE ABLE TO VOTE

I am in favor of the 19th Amendment. I believe that women should have the right to vote. Women deserve the right to vote just as much as men. Women work just as hard as men, if not harder, and women can do everything a man can do. Voting rights shouldn’t depend on a person’s race, sex, or religion. If a person works, they should be able to vote for whatever they want.
